These are the events which the Democrat Party has helped to publicize this past year.
Please note that these events are not necessarily Democrat-sponsored events.

  • Friday, Nov 1*   Pasta Dinner at 1st Presbyterian Church in Hoopeston, 915 E Orange. 430-730pm

  • Friday, Nov 1*  Catlin United Methodist Church Roast Beef Dinner, 5-7pm. Cost $7

  • Friday, Nov 1*  Monthly dinner at Rankin Lions Club. Steaks, catfish and more, from 5-8pm. Invitation extended from Precinct Committeewoman Jean Karlock

  • Friday, Nov 1 - Sunday, Nov 3  and Friday, Nov 8 - Sunday, Nov 10*   Annual Holiday Gathering in Georgetown.   Arts and crafts, antiques and collectibles, floral arrangements, food and more at area businesses, homes and churches.

  • Saturday, Nov 2*  Sausage and eggs breakfast, Hoopeston Masonic Temple on Rte 9, from 530-11am

  • Saturday, Nov 2*  Ham and Bean Dinner benefiting Rendezvous on the Ridge, in the park building in Ridge Farm, 4-7pm. Beans will be cooked by Ridge Farm Fire Dept. $4 per person

  • Saturday Nov  2*   Annual Turkey Dinner at Potomac United Methodist Church, 4pm-7pm, $8.This is a great dinner! Turkey, noodles, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, slaw, green beans, cranberries, rolls, desserts and beverages, all served family-style. Good crowd, too.

  • Saturday, Nov  2* Georgetown-Ridge Farm “Miss Piggy” benefit. Dinner 5-7pm; auction begins at 730pm. $15 per person

  • Sunday, Nov  3*   Breakfast at Danville Elks Lodge, 505 E Main St. Bacon or sausage, eggs, hash browns or grits, toast and coffee. 7am until? Invitation extended by County Board member and candidate Bill Nelson

  • Sunday, Nov 3*   Everyone working Election Day meet at Democrat Headquarters, 102 W North St, Danville at 12noon…..We will distribute materials and credentials, and train workers in the various jobs. Plan on 1- 1 ½ hours

  • Sunday, Nov 3*     --   Thanksgiving at the Cabin, 1-4pm at the Homestead Cabin Area at Forrest Glen

  • Monday, Nov 4*   Pre-election event on U of I campus, featuring Dick Durbin, Lisa Madigan, Tom Dart and Dan Hynes. Afternoon, time to be announced

  • NOV 5 ELECTION DAY !!!   THIS IS IT….THIS IS THE DAY WE HAVE ALL BEEN WORKING TOWARD….PLEASE HELP ANY WAY YOU CAN….WE ARE PAYING POLLWATCHERS, PHONE CALLERS, AND PEOPLE TO DROP LITERATURE AND PASS OUT PALM CARDS. CALL OR E-MAIL CHRISTINA DIETZEN, LYNN FOSTER, OR DON DUNAVAN….WE NEED YOU
    Party at Palmer Arena , rooms 124/125. Bring a snack to share, and be prepared for a huge victory Blowout!

  • Tuesday, Nov 5*  United Church of Tilton Annual Election Day Soup and Auction 11am-6pm. Menu: various soups and chili, served w/ homemade bread, drink and dessert for $4….carry out or delivery available….call 442 4178. Silent auction at 7pm  

  • Friday, Nov 8 - Saturday, Nov 9*   Georgetown 1st United Methodist Church Christmas Bazaar. Friday will be crafts, baked goods, and soup luncheon. Sat pancake breakfast at 7am

  • Sunday, Nov 10*   Party at Dan McCollum’s Place in the Woods….All Loyal Democrats Invited! Chili, hot dogs and soft drinks provided along with bonfire and good fellowship. Starts at 11am, continues until ?…RSVP to 477 4424 or 366 3266. There will be signage to help with directions. See map on Lynn Foster's calendar update.

  • Saturday, Nov. 16 - Wednesday, Nov. 20*        Festival of trees at Palmer Arena in Danville. Hours 9am-9pm Sat., Mon. and Tues.; 12noon-8pm Sun.; 9am-4pm Wed. cost $3 for adults. This is a beautiful display! Check out the tree designed by Barbara Dreher and the Gingerbread House made by Angie Jestis

  • Saturday, Nov. 16      St Mary’s School in Westville….annual Christmas Bazaar 9am-1pm

  • Saturday, Nov. 16 - Sunday, Nov. 17*        Danville Kennel Club 51st Dog Show at Danville High School Field House. No admission fee. Sat competition begins 2pm, Sun All Breed Show 8am-3pm 

  • Monday, Nov. 18   Vermilion County Democrats Regular Monthly Meeting 7pm, Democrat Headquarters, 102 W North , Danville. County Board Caucus will be held at 6pm for the purpose of endorsing a County Board chairman and Vice- Chairman

  • Thursday, Nov. 21  “Night of Lights” Holiday Parade sponsored by Downtown Danville Rotary. Entry forms available from Michelle Young at 443-3886. 

  • Friday, Nov. 29   Christmas Tree Lighting, Rossville

  • Saturday, Nov. 30 Christmas Parade, Rossville 11am, with Santa Also Christmas Memories Open House Sat 10a-5p and Sun 12n-5p Decorated shops and various festive activities
